14 days for the biggest English Language Teaching Convention in South America!!!

You still have time to take part of the 9th SOUTHERN CONE TESOL CONVENTION – Leading Stars of Teaching. There’ll be 3 and a half days filled with mini courses, talks, workshops, plenary talks and lunch talks with great Guest Speakers and much more! Look what we have prepared for you:

¶ THE PRE-CONVENTION INSTITUTES - PCIs

Although the convention starts officially on Monday, at 10:30 a.m. (yes! In the morning!), BRAZ-TESOL Curitiba (the organizing committee), the SIGs (Special Interest Groups), and the language departments from PUCPR and Tuiuti – UTP offer you the possibility to further your professional development in your interest area.

The PCIs consist of workshops that offer hands on professional development opportunities for interested participants registered for the convention. Five Pre-Convention Institutes are going to be held on Sunday, July 17 in the afternoon at the conference (PUCPR) and you cannot miss them!

¶ LUNCH TALKS WITH AN ELT STAR

At the TESOL’s conventions, you can usually participate in a ‘Breakfast with TESOL’s Best’ (as the one that has happened in the New Orleans convention http://www.tesol.org/s_tesol/convention2011/breakfasttesol.asp). Its main idea is to “gather with a small, casual group of colleagues to discuss a current topic of interest with a leading TESOL expert.” The Organizing Committee thought it would be a great idea to have something similar in Curitiba, and have organized Lunch Talks with the ELT Stars present at the convention. ¶ SPECIAL PRICES FOR TEACHERS IN NEED! CURITIBA & REGION

Besides the activities mentioned above, we have also prepared some “special prices” for those who cannot attend the whole convention due to their working schedule in July.

Many teachers in Curitiba have contacted us telling us they are willing to participate, but will have to teach either in the morning or evening, or one whole day and are free either mornings, afternoons or one of the days of the event. Because of this situation, we have devised the Special prices for teachers in need! Project and we’re offering one-day, two-days or 3-afternoons registration fees (for payment at the convention venue):

 For you to be entitled for these special prices or to attend the Pre-Convention Institutes you need to be either a BRAZ-TESOL or an APLIEPAR member in good-standing (plus pay the registration fee).
